IWS India organized grand Art festival in the name of “OlympiArt”.
There was an online contest, on the spot competitions, offline contest in New Delhi in 2019 at one of the biggest Art centres of India “Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts” from 8th-11th December. More than 800 Artworks were exhibited, including new exclusive category, “GENIUSES OF WATERCOLOR” (50 winners) Art works with invited Masters separately.
The festival was follewed by cultural programme with plein air. On 11th December International Watercolor Society (IWS)’ Olympiart 2019 took 80 Guest to Agra to show them TajMahal which is one of the 7 Wonders, Red Ford and FatehpurSikri. Few artist wants to paint the beauty of TajMahal . On 12th evening International Watercolor Society (IWS)’ Olympiart 2019 participants returned back to New Delhi. Taj Mahal is a white tomb built in the 16th century by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The building is in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Widely thought as one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, it is one of India's biggest tourist attractions. t is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with the Agra Fort, 2.5 kilometers away. It was listed as one of the 7 Wonders of the World in 2007.
Visit from National Crafts Museum in New Delhi. The museum celebrates the rich, diverse, and practising craft traditions of India. Situated in a large campus at the corner of Pragati Maidan, opposite the majestic Purana Qila, the museum was designed by the renowned architect Charles Correa.
Another place that the artists had the possibility to see during Olympiart festival was Banaras. It is is the most visited pilgrimage destination in all of India. One of the seven Holy Cities, one of the twelve Jyotir Linga sites and also a Shakti Pitha site, it is the most favored place for Hindus to die and be cremated. Myths and hymns speak of the waters of the Ganges River as the fluid medium of Shiva's divine essence and a bath in the river is believed to wash away all of one's sins.
